Sossi Traditional Vegetable

Indigenous Leafy Vegetables are one such traditional meals that have been consumed over the centuries in Kenyan Homes. Sossi soya chunks can be cooked with traditional vegetables in a sweet soy sauce flavour.

INGREDIENTS

  • - Sossi 90g
  • - 1 large onion – chopped
  • - 3 large tomatoes – chopped
  • - 2 bunches cooked traditional vegetales (kunde/terere/mchicha)
  • - 4 tablespoons cooking oil
  • - Salt to taste
  • METHOD

    1. Soak 90g Sossi in a medium size cup (200 ml) of cold water until all the water has been absorbed by the chunks (10 mins)
    2. Heat the oil in a sufuria, add the chopped onion and fry gently until tender (2 mins)
    3. Add the Sossi chunks, chopped tomatoes and some salt to taste, and cook while stirring (4 mins)
    4. Add the cooked traditional vegetables to your Sossi chunks and stir (5 mins)
    5. Recommendations: Serve with ugali, rice, bread, chapati, pasta, potatoes or noodles
