Recipe for Sossi Githeri


  • Sossi 80g
  • Boiled beans and maize mixture to form githeri
  • 1 medium onion
  • 3 medium tomatoes cubed
  • 1 hoho chopped
  • 1 bunch dhania chopped
  • 3 tablespoons cooking oil
  • Salt to taste

    1. Soak 80g Sossi in a medium size cup of cold water (180ml) until all the water has been absorbed by the chunks (10 mins).
    2. Heat the oil in a sufuria, add the chopped onion and fry gently until tender (2 mins)
    3. Add the Sossi chunks and chopped tomatoes, salt to taste and fry (4 mins)
    4. Add boiled githeri, to the stew and some water- 100ml to cook (10 mins)
    5. Add dhania and hoho and cook (2 min)
